我在以上写的那句话前半句是说那个错误已经犯了，因此是过去式。而逗号后面的是说那个错误是我成功的障碍，在这里不要用过去式，要用现在时。
障碍有很多说法，包括 hindrance, obstacle, impediment. 这3个是最普遍的说法。

还有千年蝶蜕把obstacle 拼错了，heatherbell 拼的是对的。

I made the same mistake, which was also the obastacle of my success.
